Tip 1 Follow the 60 - 30 -10 rule
There is an easy rule for creating a balanced color palette in any room:
- 60% main color
- for the walls
- for shelves
- and large pieces of furniture or curtains
- 30% secondary color
- for carpets
- and curtains or furniture
- and the last 10% is for
- accent colors for pillows
- for blankets
- for throws
- and other decorative accessories
The general advice here is that the main color should be 60%, the secondary color should be 30% and the remaining 10% should be the accent color.
Try to stay within these limits.
